Looking Back and Looking Forward
We’re looking back AND looking forward in this anniversary year as we remember that amazing ‘Summer of Sport’ in London 2012.
LOOKING BACK
What are your memories of London 2012?
Did you know you can share your #legacy #memories with the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park?
Read some inspiring stories and share your memories of that time when the nation came together for the Olympics and Paralympics in London: https://10yearson.queenelizabetholympicpark.co.uk/
The Choir’s favourite ‘collective’ memory of the Games has to be that first performance on the Olympic Park, when a group of volunteers answered the call from Victoria Verbi to join a choir.
Who remembers those purple and poppy uniforms?
If you’ve been following our adventures since 2012 you’ll know that we wear a different uniform now.
And – LOOKING FORWARD?
The summer of 2022 promises to be a great summer of sport too.
Along with several other large sporting events, the excitement is building towards the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and the West Midlands this summer.
Many members of the choir have signed up to be volunteers in different roles and will become part of the “Brum 22 Commonwealth Collective” – almost as catchy a name as “Games Maker”!
So you may see some of us wearing a different uniform too this summer.
