History is made for the choir at Kneller Hall!
We were excited and honoured to announce that The Games Maker Choir would be singing at The Royal Military School of Music at Kneller Hall, Twickenham on Wednesday 12 July 2017. Our first non sport related concert!
Performing alongside musicians of the Band of The Parachute Regiment, The Corps of Royal Engineers and The Queens Division, as part of the school’s annual ‘Summer Series’ – this promised to be a fabulous evening of entertainment with a theme of “Stage and Screen”, and it definitely lived up to, and surpassed expectations!
After a day of final rehearsals, sound checks and a fascinating tour of the historic Royal Military School Music inside Kneller Hall, hundreds of spectators made themselves comfortable in the grounds with chairs and picnic hampers. They were treated to an evening of top class musicianship from the talented students and their bandmasters, and the Games Maker Choir were immensely proud to sing accompanied by such talented musicians.
The programme included some inspiring songs, including “When You Believe”and the atmospheric “CloudSong”with the solo sung beautifully by our founder and leader, Victoria Verbi. The audience then joined in with the chorus of the anthemic “One Day Like This” to complete our performance.
This was a ‘first’ for the choir and a real honour to be part of a great British tradition in such a wonderful setting.
