Tear jerker live BBC1 performance for the Games Maker Choir

Victoria Verbi conducts the Compact Games Maker Choir at the BBC 14 August 2016

Rio 2016’s  “Super Saturday” was indeed followed by our own “Super Sunday” when a section of the Games Maker Choir performed live on BBC1 on Sunday 14 August 2016.

The ‘Compact Choir’ sang our new ‘favourite’ song – Snow Patrol’s “Run”,  in a moving performance accompanied by BBC footage of some of the amazing Team GB medal winners (at that point in time) at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. The choir’s performance ‘played out’ and concluded the Sunday Morning Live programme following an interesting debate on the perceived differences between professional football players and Olympic Sports athletes.

The whole choir, several of whom have also been volunteering at the 2016 Olympics and Paralympics in Rio are extremely proud of our lovely new telly stars and applaud their colourful screen presence in the World Piazza of the iconic BBC Broadcasting House in the heart of central London.
